Peter Hoyt is president and founder of Hoyt Publishing Company (HPC), and the founder and executive director of the In-Store Marketing Institute.

Mr. Hoyt launched HPC in February 1988, with the bootstrap start-up of P-O-P Times magazine, a publication serving the point-of-purchase advertising and in-store marketing industry. Hoyt Publishing has since expanded with the subsequent launches of P-O-P Design magazine; the In-Store Marketing Expo; the In-Store Marketing Summit and the P-O-P Senior Executive Congress. All of these endeavors, as well as a massive industry database at www.instoremarketer.org, comprise the In-Store Marketing Institute, a membership-based association launched in 2003.

HPC also publishes Home Décor Buyer magazine which was launched in 2000, as well as the leading buyer’s guide serving the casual furniture industry.

Prior to forming Hoyt Publishing Company, Mr. Hoyt served as central states advertising director Dun’s Review Magazine, a D&B publication and as an account manager for Design News, a Cahners publication.

A native of Evanston, Illinois, Mr. Hoyt graduated cum laude from Boston College in 1981 with a B.A. in English. He was recently named one of today’s leading media executives in B to B magazine’s 2006 “Who’s Who in Business Publishing” (a Crain Communications publication). This follows his designation as one of 15 media executives in B to B’s “Who’s Who in 2004 and 2005.” Mr. Hoyt also appeared on Media Industry News’ 2004 list of the “21 Most Intriguing People.” He has served on the Strategic Planning Committee of American Business Media (ABM), an association of business media companies; as a board member, and on the executive committee for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau; and on the Publisher’s Advisory Committee for the Business of Performing Audits International (BPAI).
